Chairman's Message - The Surgical Society of Zambia
The Surgical Society of Zambia is now 9 years old and is firmly established as a national and internationally recognised body representing the Surgical fraternity in the country. To enhance its standing the Society is affiliated to the International Federation of Surgical Colleges and the Association of Surgeons of East Africa. Its primary aim of "Advancing the Art and Science of Surgery" in the country has been partially fulfilled by the various courses that it has held in the country namely the Zambia Trauma Management Course, the Plaster Techniques Course and the Orthopaedic AO course to name but a few of our achievements. This year it is the privilege of this society to host the 52nd Conference and Annual General Meeting of the Association of Surgeons of East Africa combined with the 19th Scientific Meeting of the Surgical Society of Zambia here in Lusaka, Zambia. On behalf of the Executive Committee I welcome all the delegates to Zambia and wish you a successful conference. I hope you enjoy the Zambian hospitality and return to visit us in the hear future.
