Message from the conference chairman
Surgical congresses in the technologically advanced world ten to be compartmentalized. Our intention at this combined scientific meeting is to offer a variety of papers which will be of interest to the generalist as well as the specialist practicing in this part of the world. We look forward to interesting discussion sessions with active participation of the audience and trust that the links established at this gathering will continue to strengthen the discipline of surgery in the regions and further afield. We also look forward to hosting the Interim Council meeting of the College of Surgeons of East and Central Africa. The College was inaugurated last year and will be holding its first Annual General Meeting at this congress.
